Getting Started with Bark 'n Yapp

Everything you need to know to join the ever-growing dog park within Bark 'n Yapp. From creating an account to resetting your password.


What is a business account?

A Business account on Bark 'n Yapp is very different from a User account. It is for commercial use of the website, and is a location where you, the business owner, can promote a business, event, or website.


If a business owner is also a dog owner, we encourage them to open a personal User account as well as a Business account, but they cannot use their personal User account to promote their own business, or review their competitors. Our Review Guidelines give you more information on acceptable reviews.


Why do I need a business account?

Bark 'n Yapp is both a community site for dog lovers and a directory service that helps to connect dog lovers to the businesses that love dogs. We have worked hard to add as many business (and also parks and attractions) to our listings. The base listing includes the business name, address, and primary category (all based on the best information we could find). Our geo-location application allows dog owners with User accounts to search our listings and add reviews, ratings and bookmarks.


By opening a Business account, you will be able to add more information to your listing, such as a phone number, website, email address, business description and picture. You will also be able to change, or confirm your primary business category. And you get this all for FREE! Now that’s pretty cool.


How do I create a business account?

Start by searching for your business

Are you a business selling products or services to dog owners? You can search our extensive database for your business and then “mark” it. With over 5,000 businesses from across Canada in our database, chances are you will already show up in our directory.

  1. Begin by searching our extensive database here biz.barknyapp.com/listing.

  2. Once you find your business, you can select the “Mark as yours” icon.

  3. You will then fill in the form, including your desired password, and then click “Mark My Business”.

  4. From the following screen select your account option to complete your account registration.

The submission will go directly to the Bark 'n Yapp Team for final validation. You may receive a call from a Bark 'n Yapp Team member within 2 business days at the phone number you provided to validate your information before authenticating your account. Sorry, but we only have so many paws.


Once we have authenticated your account, you will receive an email from Bark 'n Yapp with a link to our login page. Using the email address and password from your registration, you will be able to access your account.


What if I couldn’t find my business?

If you cannot find your business, you can add your business and open an account.

  1. From any location with Bark 'n Yapp For Business select Sign Up.

  2. You will then fill in the form, including your desired password, and then click “Continue to Business Registration”.

  3. On the second form you will provide some basic information about your business and then click “Continue to Marking Options”.

  4. From the following screen select your account option to complete your account registration.

The submission will go directly to the Bark 'n Yapp Team for final validation. You may receive a call from a Bark 'n Yapp Team member within 2 business days at the phone number you provided to validate your information before authenticating your account. Sorry, but we only have so many paws.


Once we have authenticated your account, you will receive an email from Bark 'n Yapp with a link to our login page. Using the email address and password from your registration, you will be able to access your account.


What if I submitted a registration, but nobody from the Bark 'n Yapp Team contacted me?

Hmm, as a puppy, we are going through some growing pains and sometimes we just don’t hear all our commands. If you have not heard from the Bark 'n Yapp Team within 2 business days, please send an email to admin@barknyapp.com and we’ll stop scratching our fleas long enough to look after everything.


How do I make changes to my account profile?

Once your account has been validated, you will have complete access to your account online by selecting Login from the Bark 'n Yapp for Business site. All changes can be made within your account Profile and Settings pages.
